                                                              PREFACE

    I haven’t had a chance to think of how I was going to die. If I would die around my family, or someone I don’t know. I never have thought that I would die like this.
   I walked into the dark room, staring death in the face. He was sitting, In what looked like a chair, laughing. I quietly walked toward to dark figure.
   If I never have moved to Phoenix, I wouldn’t be in this mess. I have had my chance to grieve when I moved to Phoenix, but now is the wrong time to grieve, now is the time to fight.

                                                           1.CHANGES

    I was trying to talk my mother out of making me move to my father’s in Phoenix. She refused to give up. “I really believe you should spend more time with your father, besides he really misses you.” my mom said. I haven’t seen or even talked to my father since I was eight. I’m surprised he even remembered me. “But mom, I’d rather live here with you, you know how I don’t like the heat.”  I don’t like anything about the heat. It makes me sweet, and I don’t like feeling all sticky. “Honey, you’ll love Phoenix, you’ll just have to get used to it first, besides I already bought your plane ticket. You’ll be on flight 121 to Phoenix at 10:00 Am tomorrow.” She said. I eventually gave up. “Fine, but I won’t like it there.”
    It was 8:00 Am when my mom woke me up to get ready to leave. I don’t know why she wakes me up in the mornings, I could wake myself. “Honey, hurry up you don’t want to miss your flight.” She said. yes I do. “Fine mom I’ll be right down..”  I was down in less than five minutes, acting very unenthusiastic about moving to Phoenix. The drive to the airport was even worse. She kept saying, ‘be on your best behavior’ or ‘if any problem call me or your father.’  I was actually happy to get to the airport. My mother was just driving me crazy! We said our goodbyes and than I was on the plane to the Sunny city of Phoenix.
                                                                    * * *
    It felt like a long plane ride, but the plane ride was only two hours long. When I got off the plane there he was, my father, Adam. He doesn’t like me calling him Adam, I’m supposed to call him dad.
“Elisabeth! It’s been a while, how are you?” “Ad-dad I’m fine but dad please call me Beth. ok?” “Oh. Ok. your mom never told me you like being called that, sorry I didn’t know.” figures my mom called me Elisabeth behind my back. “It’s ok Dad” “Oh Beth guess what? I got you a car!” “What? Dad you didn’t need to do that I was saving up for one.” “But I already bought it, it’s a classic!” “How classic are you talking about?” I had a feeling that this wasn’t going to end well. “Well ok, it’s a 1953 Chevrolet , I got it from a friend.” great this means he got it for free. “Are you sure it runs?” “Yes, It’s in perfect condition, it just got a new engine.” The rest of the drive home was quiet. It didn’t bother me the silence between us, because I don’t really know him. When we pulled up to the house I spotted my car, I was surprised, I actually liked it! “Thanks dad I love it!” “Your welcome.” I stepped inside my, well I should say new car, it smelled like tobacco. I’ll have to deal with that later. When I entered the house, Adam showed me where my room is. It’s a small room, painted lime green, with flowers. There was a bed at the far wall, away from the door, next to the window. I sat my one bag of luggage on the bed. “Beth? Can you come down here?” “Be right down.” I slowly stepped down the stairs. “Beth, I signed you up for school, it’s a nice school, it’s called, Deer Valley High School. You’ll be starting there on Monday.” Great first I had to move, now I have to get ready for school tomorrow! “Ok dad.-thanks.” I slowly went back up stairs and started to unpack.
